This second issue of the French Complex Systems Roadmap is the outcome of the “Entretiens de Cargèse 2008”, an interdisciplinary brainstorming session organized over one week in 2008, jointly by RNSC, ISC-PIF and IXXI. It capitalizes on the first roadmap and gathers contributions of more than 70 scientists from major French institutions.

Les auteurs de ce volume, issu d’une Décade de Cerisy tenue en juillet 2007, ont été les compagnons de route de Jean-Pierre Dupuy aux différentes étapes de sa carrière. Ils interrogent ses idées en se penchant sur le chemin parcouru et en posant les jalons de celui qui reste à faire.

Jean-Pierre Dupuy, polytechnicien et ingénieur des mines, est professeur à l’Université Stanford. Il a fondé en 1983 le CREA (Centre de recherche en épistémologie appliquée) et a été un précurseur en France des réflexions sur l'auto-organisation en sciences sociales, notamment avec l'introduction de la notion "d'individualisme méthodologique complexe".

Avec des textes de Mark Anspach, Henri Atlan, Alain Boyer, Monique Canto-Sperber, David Chavalarias, Paul Dumouchel, Jean-Pierre Dupuy, René Girard, Serge Karsenty, Jean Petitot, Reginald McGinnis, Andrew McKenna, André Orléan et Jean Robert.

La méthode d'analyse employée emprunte à la théorie des treillis de Galois. Dans notre cas, les "objets" sont des motions ou des extraits de motion, et les "propriétés" sont les termes (noms & groupes nominaux), ou concepts employés.

Un site compagnon permet d'écouter les débats et les interventions n'ayant pas donné lieu à publication.
