The “Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Modélisation” (LPTM), of Cergy-Pontoise, University offers a permanent position of Full Professor in Theoretical Physics, in the framework of the national call of 2016.
The LPTM is a research unit of Cergy-Pontoise, University, associated to CNRS (UMR 8089) with a staff of about twenty permanent researchers. Their research field is General Theoretical Physics (excluding High Energy Physics).
The LPTM seeks an international expert in Theoretical Physics, able to propose original research projects in a domain related to any of the teams of LPTM:
- Condensed Matter and Quantum Phenomena
- Integrable Systems
- Stochastic Models of Large Systems
- Soft Matter and Complex Systems
The applicant’s ability to maintain international collaborations, to supervise PhD students and to answer to research funding calls, like those of the French National Research Agency (ANR) or European projects, will be considered as a strong asset for this position.
The applicant is also encouraged to participate to the activities of the LABEX MME-DII of Cergy- Pontoise University (see http://labex-mme-dii.u-cergy.fr )
The chosen candidate must be able to teach all the subjects proposed by the Physics Department, at undergraduate level (Bachelor, Master). A strong teaching experience at University level and excellent pedagogic skills will be considered as a good point for this position. A level of French language equal to B2 at least is then expected.
The chosen candidate will take pedagogical responsibilities in the Physics Department, in particular, the coordination and/or the creation of new teaching pathways.
