The Theoretical Physics and Modelisation Laboratory (LPTM), Physics Department, University Cergy Pontoise, France announces the opening, by the end of 2018, of a Full Professor position. Position to start in September 2019.
Dans le cadre de l’appel à candidature pour trois Post-Doc en SHS financés par l’INSHS, l’Institut des Systèmes Complexes de Paris Ile-de-France invite les potentiels candidats à monter un projet en résidence.
The SCALE-IT-UP project needs a postdoc (3 years) and a PhD student to work at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and at the University of Luxembourg. The project is led by a geographer (Geoffrey Caruso, professor at the University of Luxembourg and LISER) and a physicist (Rémi Lemoy, postdoc at the University of Luxembourg), and will combine approaches from both disciplines to analyse statistically large spatial datasets regarding urban areas and their environmental impacts.
A new article collection dedicated to the cutting edge research advances on community structures in networks, in order to provide a landscape of research progresses and application potentials in related areas, is now open for submissions.
The study of complexity can not be anymore dissociated from intensive computational practices. Modeling and simulation have indeed taken a crucial role in the extraction of knowledge, especially in the study of systems with a high complexity such as socio-technical systems. Quantitative geography is a perfect illustration of how methodological, technical, empirical and theoretical advances necessarily strongly bind together: the use of computation centers in the seventies would be comparable to the current democrati- zation of grid computing which impact dramatically changes the way social science is practiced. The aim of this symposium is take a reflexive positioning on these trends, situate them regarding similar practices, and establish the most crucial future issues to be tackled within that stream of research.
Investigation and modeling of the uncertainty in power grids and of its impacts on the information and energy exchange between smart building and smart grids
We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Leenaards memory Centre (CLM), Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Lausanne, Switzerland. CLM is a translational service of CHUV dedicated to diagnosis and care of patients with age-related cognitive decline (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease) as well as to clinical research programs. The latter benefit from CLM capacities for patient recruitment and acquisition of standardized electronic records of clinical and cognitive assessment, as well as quantitative brain imaging (MRI), and biomarkers, using multimodal information system in conjunction to hospital and other institutional data systems.
