About

This family workshop offers an immersive and participatory journey centred around one key idea: eating means transforming. Through several spaces for exploration, participants discover how food involves a series of transformations that are biological, sensory, cultural and ecological.

Transformations in the Body
What happens to food once we eat it? Through simple experiments and hands-on activities, participants explore the different stages of digestion — chewing, the action of digestive juices, and the transformation of nutrients — and discover how the body transforms matter so that it can be used.

Transformations Before Tasting
Why do we cook, ferment and mix food? Here, cooking becomes a space for scientific exploration, where different processes alter the texture, taste and properties of food. Participants experiment with different types of food transformation and observe their effects.

Sensory Transformations
How does a smell, texture or taste become a source of pleasure, emotion or rejection? Through interactive sensory activities, participants discover how the brain interprets and transforms information received through the senses to shape our food preferences.

Transformations of the Environment
How does our food transform landscapes, soils, biodiversity and agricultural systems? Games, discussions and mini-experiments help participants understand the connections between food production, ecosystems and climate.

Cultural and Historical Transformations
How do our eating habits change over time and across cultures? Participants compare different food practices and imagine together ways of eating that are more diverse and sustainable.
