Un partenariat entre le Forum sur l’Information et la démocratie et l’Institut des Systèmes complexes du CNRS

L’ISC-PIF est heureux d’annoncer la création d’un partenariat stratégique avec le Forum sur l’Information et la Démocratie et son Observatoire International sur l’information et la démocratie. Ce partenariat vise à renforcer leur collaboration autour de l’utilisation de la plateforme Gargantext, plateforme développée par l’ISC-PIF, permettant une analyse collaborative et approfondie de corpus textuels.

Cette coopération permettra d’élargir et de synthétiser la meta-recherche de l’Observatoire avec des outils novateurs pour le traitement de grands corpus de textes, et la visualisation de données scientifiques, favorisant l’échange de connaissances et l’innovation dans le domaine de la recherche.”

L’Observatoire international sur l’information et la démocratie progresse actuellement sur la production de son rapport inaugural (à paraître en janvier 2025), qui a pour objectif de dresser un état des lieux de la recherche mondiale sur l’impact de l’écosystème de l’information sur la démocratie. Ce rapport explore des thèmes majeurs tels que l’intelligence artificielle, les médias à l’ère du numérique, la gouvernance des données et la désinformation. À ce jour, l’observatoire a rassemblé et synthétisé plus de 3000 sources traitant de ces thématiques.

Le partenariat entre l’ISC-PIF et le FID a pour vocation d’approfondir et d’illustrer ces recherches grâce à l’outil Gargantext et à toutes ses fonctionnalités disponibles, notamment de produire des représentations cartographiques qui analysent les connexions entre ces corpus de texte. Cela permettra de créer une visualisation dynamique des données et des conclusions du rapport, et plus largement, faciliter la compréhension des enjeux cruciaux liés à l’information et la démocratie.

Partnership between the Forum on Information and Democracy and CNRS’ Institute for Complex Systems (ISC-PIF)

The Forum on Information and Democracy is pleased to announce the creation of a strategic partnership between its International Observatory on Information and Democracy and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), through its Institut des Systèmes Complexes de Paris Île-de-France (ISC-PIF). The aim of this partnership is to strengthen their collaboration around the use of the Gargantext platform, an innovative tool developed by the ISC-PIF, enabling collaborative and in-depth analysis of textual corpora.

This cooperation will enable us to expand and synthesize the Observatory’s meta-research with innovative tools for processing large text corpora and visualizing scientific data, promoting knowledge exchange and innovation in the field of research.’

The International Observatory on Information and Democracy is currently making progress on the production of its inaugural report (to be published in January 2025), which aims to take stock of global research on the impact of the information ecosystem on democracy. The report explores major themes such as artificial intelligence, media in the digital age, data governance and disinformation. To date, the observatory has gathered and synthesized more than 3,000 sources dealing with these themes.

The aim of the partnership with the ISC-PIF is to extend and illustrate this research using the Gargantext tool and all its available functions, in particular to create cartographic representations analyzing the connections between these bodies of text. This will enable a dynamic visualization of the data and conclusions of the report, and more broadly, facilitate understanding of the crucial issues at the intersection between information and democracy.
