During his residency at the Complex Systems Institute of Paris Île-de-France, Kaiyuan Lin (University of Tokyo) collaborated with Maziyar Panahi (ISC-PIF) and David Chavalarias (ISC-PIF) on the design of a mobile traceability system for sustainable food supply networks.
This collaboration was recently the subject of an article in Nature: “Mobile-based traceability system for sustainable food supply networks“.
On the occasion of this publication, the ISC-PIF organizes an online conference with the authors on November 26, 2020, at 10:00 am (GMT+1).
Speakers :
- Kaiyuan Lin (University of Tokyo), Associate Researcher (ISC-PIF), PhD candidate (University of Tokyo),
- David Chavalarias, CNRS Research Director, (CAMS & ISC-PIF),
- Maziyar Panahi, Big Data Engineer (ISC-PIF/CNRS), Project Manager of Multivac Platform.
Abstract
This paper published in Nature Food presents the research conducted by Kaiyuan Lin (University of Tokyo) at the Complex Systems Institute of Paris Île-de-France, CNRS. This research proposes a mobile-based bi-directional tracing system for food products that integrates graphic database and pear-to-pear (P2P) architecture. Besides promoting resource efficiency and transparency of origin, production, and distribution, the system can mesh surveillance and shed light on complex food networks, ultimately contributing to the advancement of food research.
